This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to mitomycin, or if you are pregnant.How to Use This Medicine:
Liquid
- A doctor or other trained health professional will apply this medicine to your eyes using sponges during glaucoma filtration surgery.
Drugs and Foods to Avoid:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
Warnings While Using This Medicine:
- It is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. If you are a woman who can get pregnant, your doctor may do tests to make sure you are not pregnant before receiving this medicine.
- Do not breastfeed during and for at least 1 week after receiving this medicine.
- Tell your doctor if you have cataracts, phakic intraocular lens, or any other eye problems.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:
- Increased risk of cataracts or other lens problems
- Low pressure inside the eye
Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine:
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Blurred vision or other vision changes
- Eye pain, light sensitivity, watery eyes
- Redness, irritation, or swelling of your eye or eyelid
- Seeing flashes or floating spots before your eyes
- Seeing halos around lights
