When This Medicine Should Not Be Used:

This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to cosyntropin.

How to Use This Medicine:

Injectable

• A nurse or other health provider will give you this medicine.
• An IV injection is given through a small tube that is put in one of your veins, usually in your arm, wrist, or hand.
• An IM injection is a shot given in the muscle of your upper arm, thigh, or buttocks.
• If you miss your appointment for this test, call your doctor.

Drugs and Foods to Avoid:

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.

• Tell your doctor if you are also using a diuretic (water pill).

Warnings While Using This Medicine:

• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are allergic to corticotropins.

Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine:

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

• Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
