Mucous membrane

Mucosa is moist tissue that lines certain parts of the inside of your body. It is in your:

  • Nose
  • Mouth
  • Lungs
  • Digestive tract
  • Urinary and genital tracts

Glands in this tissue release a thick fluid called mucus.
